Hello All!

One of the things I like best about working in the wedding industry is the unique dynamics of each event. I have always loved fast-paced environments and meeting new people. Which makes weddings such a fun way to use my skills to help people. Let me explain by backing up a little bit.

Hi! I'm Nicole, owner of Elemental Event Planning. I have been working in the hospitality sector for a few years now. Prior to that I was working as a RPN at the local hospital. Due to life circumstances, I found myself looking for a new career and I was drawn into hospitality. I have always been a planner- being chair of the Social Community on my high school's student council, I lead student teams to run different social events for the school. I just never really thought of it as an option for a career. I come from a long line of nurses and after a bit of back and forth I ended up in a nursing program.

My organization skills and ability to adapt to changing circumstances are what allowed me to do well as a nurse- but in all honesty I struggled as a nurse. Emotionally I found it extremely difficult to not be affected by the things I saw. In 2015, I was in a car accident that changed the direction of my life. I began a journey to find more joy in my life. To find a career that I was able to do well in and still help others. Thankfully I met a wonderful woman who took a chance on me and helped to mentor me while I learned more about this wonderful industry. The more experiences I began to have, I started to see that I had a passion for planning and coordination of events- especially weddings. I love the fact that I can re-create someones vision into a real love-filled experience.

Thankfully, most weddings go off without a hitch but sometimes things happen (which is why you hire a professional planner/coordinator) and the best you can do is find the next best possible solution. This blog will be a bit of a reflective tool for me- because I believe in growing through our lessons. It will be a place to get real about some real time issues I am faced with as a professional planner and coordinator. I will never provide names or dates. As I respect the privacy of others- but I will share what I learn, so maybe someone else can avoid a possible mishap! So let the show begin. :)
